We are looking for a Backend Developer (f/m/d) based in Vienna and we hope you like challenges as we are pushing the boundaries of digital innovation! As a Backend Software Developer here at Grassfish, you will design and architect the next generation of our digital signage platform, working alongside great colleagues and an inspiring Head of Development.
Key responsibilities
- Dive into and maintain the complex backends of our cutting-edge, web-based applications
- Collaborate with our dynamic team to bring innovative ideas to life, creating waves of change with sustainable solutions for the ever-evolving demands of our clients
- Part of your responsibilities will be to modernize and evolve our IXM platform (CMS solution), in particular by designing and implementing a module for DOOH and SSP
- Work in an agile environment to architect the next generation of our digital signage platform, taking the helm of key components in the project
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with international teams, enriching your professional ocean of knowledge as you learn from each other
- Ensure clear and proactive communication across the board, with fluid updates and feedback, primarily in English.
Your profile

We are now looking for someone with....
- Several years of experience in backend development with exceptional knowledge in C#/.NET
- Strong currents of experience in SQL and relational databases (Microsoft SQL Server)
- High interest in algorithms, data science, and optimising runtime complexity, ensuring that systems scale like the ocean’s tides
- Experience in creating RESTful services and integrating with gRPC, ensuring seamless data flow across systems
- An eye for security, Docker, and Kubernetes, eager to build secure systems that are both robust and scalable
- Familiarity with Azure Cloud Solutions and a curiosity to explore tools like PowerBI and AI
- Mastery in using tools such as Git, CI pipelines, Jira, and Confluence to navigate your daily workflows
- A commitment to clean, maintainable code and the discipline to perform regular code reviews
- A self-motivated attitude with flexibility and the ability to adapt to new challenges—alongside strong communication skills in English (German is a plus)
- A thirst for knowledge, always ready to explore new tools, systems, and technologies as you dive deeper into your craft

Due to legal reasons, we are obliged to disclose the minimum salary for this position, which is as per the collective agreement €3,850 gross per month based on full-time employment (38.5 h/week). However, the package will be higher and will be based on your qualifications and experience.
